📦 2. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide our services:

• Account email Optional — If you create an account, we store your email address to authenticate you and sync your Premium across devices. The app's core features work without an account.
• Device identifiers — A device ID and FCM push token to register your device and deliver earthquake notifications.
• Location data Optional — When you grant location permission, we collect and store your location on our servers to calculate distance to earthquakes and target alerts to your area. You can revoke permission and request deletion at any time.
• Emergency contacts Optional — If you add emergency contacts, the names and phone numbers you enter are stored on our servers so the feature works across your devices, and are used only for that feature.
• Device information — OS type (Android/iOS), app version, device model, country and language. Used for compatibility and support.
• Subscription status — Whether you have an active Premium subscription. No payment details are stored by us.
• Usage & analytics data — App launches, screen views, feature interactions and approximate (city-level) location, via Firebase Analytics.
• Advertising identifier With your permission — On iOS, after you allow it via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, a device/advertising identifier (such as the IDFA) and ad-click identifiers may be used to measure which advertising campaign your install came from.

🎯 3. How We Use Your Data

• Sending earthquake push notifications relevant to your location or selected filters.
• Verifying and managing your Premium subscription.
• Improving app stability and performance (anonymised analytics).
• Measuring the performance of our own advertising campaigns (install attribution).
• Complying with legal obligations.

🤝 4. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google LLC) — Push notifications (FCM) and analytics. Firebase Privacy
• Advertising partners (e.g. Meta, Google Ads) — Used only to measure which campaign drove an app install (attribution). On iOS this happens only if you allow tracking via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
• Google Play / Apple App Store — In-app purchase processing. We never see your full card details.
• CartoDB / OpenStreetMap — Map tile rendering. Only your IP address is used briefly for tile delivery, no personal data is stored.

📍 5. Location Data

Location access is entirely optional. You may deny or revoke location permission at any time via your device settings. Denying location only means alerts will not be filtered by proximity — all other features remain fully available.

When you grant permission, your location is stored on our servers to calculate distance to earthquakes and to target alerts to your area. You can request deletion of this data at any time.

📣 6. Advertising & Tracking

We run advertising campaigns to promote the app. To understand which campaign a new install came from, we and our advertising partners may use a device or advertising identifier (such as the iOS Advertising Identifier/IDFA) or an ad-click identifier to attribute installs.

On iOS, we ask for your permission first through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and this attribution only occurs if you allow it. We do not build advertising profiles about you beyond measuring our own campaigns, and we do not share your data with data brokers.

The website uses minimal browser storage:

• Essential cookies — Session management, language preference. These are required for basic functionality.
• No advertising cookies — We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies on the website.

🔐 8. Data Security & Retention

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, hashed storage for sensitive identifiers, and access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel only.

Data retention: We keep your personal data only as long as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion at any time (in the app or by email), after which we delete your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records to meet legal obligations.

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us immediately.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
